my nephew caught a spider and i'm wondering what kind of spider it is... it's black with yellow stripes... i'm assuming that cuz the yellow stripes are thinner. it has a fat stomach that is shaped like a lemon without a head... if that makes sense... it has long black legs... but it has one stripe on it's legs... wonderig if all spiders have that... but anyways... he wants to keep it... i don't know if i should... can u tell me about this spider? better yet... the name of this spider... and i can just look it up on the internet... thanx~

  1. Perhaps you can identify it by looking through a set of spider images, then use a search engine to learn more about the particular spider.  Pleasant dreams?

  2. Im not quite sure so there u go

  3. These are some of the best sites, where you can ID it -

    http://www.spideridentification.org/

    http://www.usq.edu.au/spider/index.htm

    http://www.arachnology.be/pages/Identifi...

  4. Send me a photo and I'll ID it for you.

Without seeing it, and knowing where you live, it's difficult, but it sounds like a harmless Wolf Spider to me.

Don't be afraid.  99.9% of all spiders are harmless to humans.

They do a great deal of good and help keep your home free of pests like Mosquitoes, Flys, Gnats, Cockroaches, Termites, Aphids, Crickets, etc, etc..
