  1. I had to make one for my 7th grader using the instructions from the teacher.   Notice I said I had to make it?   Anyway, find an old picture frame.   It does not have to be big.   Use this as your lyre frame.   Now you will have to help drill some holes in it on the top and bottom.   Figure out how many strings you need and drill holes on the bottom of the frame so that the string will fit through and you can tie a knot for each hole. You can wrap the string around the frame a couple of times if you want.  Space the holes at the bottom around 1/2" apart.   Get some small eye hooks (enough for each string) and drill a small hole on top so the eye hooks can s***w in easily.   Space the holes around 1" apart.   Your trying to have a look so the strings kind of fan out.   Get you some fishing line preferably around a 20 lb test and string up the frame by tying the string on the bottom and then tying the string in the eye of the s***w.   When you have each line tied up then you can tighten the string by turning the eye screws to get the right pitch sound that you need.   Keep in mind that it won't be perfect but it will make a sound.
