My new GPS has no signal?

My new GPS shows no satelite signal. How to fix it?

Take it outdoors into an open area, like a field or parking lot.  Turn your GPS receiver on and just let it sit there with a good view of the sky for 15-30 minutes.  This will allow the receiver to receive the latest almanac for the GPS satellites.  The almanac tell the GPS receiver which satellites to look for at its particular location at a particular time.  The first time you use a GPS receiver, or if you turn it on for the first time in several weeks, you need to give the receiver time to get the new almanac.
