  1. Make sure you have your video output going to the receiver/stereo or what ever you are getting your 5.1 from. Then use the receiver video output to connect to your tv.  So many times, people will connect the audio output of the dvd player/cable box to the stereo and the video output straight to the tv.  This works, but it also creates a lag in audio, since the stereo has to process the audio signal, and output it to the speakers, and this causes a delay.  Not all stereo's have video inputs and outputs, so if yours doesnt, I would recommend upgrading.  By running the video and audio to the stereo, everything is in sync.  If not, check the setup menu in the stereo (if it has one) and make sure there are no delays set.

  2. It's probably coming from wherever you get your signal, not the TV itself.  I have that problem sometimes with my DISH HD DVR.  They're still perfecting the HD hardware and software.  I think we'll just have to live with it for a little while.

  3. The connections make a lot of difference. You might need to rewire the 5.1 with a different type of lead .

  4. Go into the audio setup  and look for the delay setting.  See if changing the setting improves the synch.
