My Sony digital TV (SONY KDL-37P3020) was delivered to me three days ago and I was not able to use it. When I switch it on, it goes on to say "No programs are stored". What does this mean? What do I have to do?

  1. I strongly suggest to read the manual or the "quick setup" poster that usually are included in the box for new TV sets. It looks like you skipped the "initial setup" screen that appears when the TV is turn on the first time.

Usually you get that message because you haven't recorded any channels (analog or digital) in the TV. You can try scanning for channels again using the instructions showed in the "operating instructions" manual. Some TVs need to have at least a channel stored in the receiver even when you are going to use it as a monitor (connecting another receiver to the "video in" inputs) but that will depend on your TV.

Since your TV is brand new, you can also try to reset it to factory settings. Check the Troubleshooting section in your manual for the instructions on how to do that.

    I hope this information helps.
