Question:

My new baby mouse just died?

My sister-in-law bought me & my husband a baby mouse today. I'm not sure of the age, but she was really small. You could still see the pink skin under her fur. Anyhow, she was in the cage with two other mice (maybe that was my fault) and she went in the wheel and laid down with the other two. I think that she might have smothered...but idk. Could it have been because of the care at the pet store too?

  1. If you saw her skin she was not healthy to begin with, her fur was falling out... it was probably the petstore's fault.

  2. Most likley it was to young to be seperated from the mother.

  3. if you can see the skin, it either means it is sick or it is very young.

in your case, you said it was really small so it was probably still in the stage of drinking milk.

    the mouse died of starvation.

  4. If you could see her skin, then she was either too young to be taken from her mom, was previously injured, or sick.  Not smothered.  Mice curl up on each other all the time to feel secure, and warm.  If I were you, I'd pick my next mouse out on my own.  lol  Or show your sister-in-law how to choose healthier ones.
