The challenge I'm having is I thought "snooker" was to deceive, to scam someone. "I've been snookered..."

But how that relates to being in a pool... well, it could be a play on words.. "I've been screwed..."... um, yeah.

Last time I snookered on a pool table I lost $1,000 to some guy who claimed he'd never played before but was really good.  It must have been beginner's luck or something.  I could never figure out why somebody who never played before owned his own cue, though...
