lol. We rescued a kitty a few weeks ago, shes probably like 4-5 months old. She is friendly and weel behaved and used the litter box immeadiately but for some reason she somehow gets the poo out of the box. The box has the cover on it that kinda curves in at the top to keep everything in when thye dig, you know. and I scopp all the time but she specifically somehow gets the poo out onto the floor. and its not like shes just digging so exessively that everything flies out bc theres barely any litter on the floor. Is she just trying ot clean for me? lol

  1. i'm sure you've tried this: try catching miss kitty in the act. seeing exactly how she manages to get the poopie out of the box might explain her motivation.  for example, maybe it's a bit of a game. in that case she needs more diverting toys at her disposal. good luck. at least it's not a toddler! :->

  2. I'm sorry but that headline is so funny - I imagined a cat flinging poo like a monkey in a cage.  I'm laughing so hard.  OK so I think your cat is just digging to energetically and a deeper littler box would work. There are litter boxes that have a cover on the top with a hole in it for the cat to get in and out from the top instead of the side. That would definitely stop the flinging. or maybe just a covered cat pan or one of those really deep ones. Oh god my eyes are watering from laughing so hard.  I have seen both of these kinds of cat pans on amazon.com.

  3. I hate to say it, but she could be taking it out of there with her mouth and putting it on the floor. You should hide and watch her to see what she's doing. Could she be pooing on the floor and then flinging litter out to cover it?...

  4. Sometimes, my cats miss the box. They hang their butts over the edge of the pan. You have a covered box, which makes me think that your cat is going in head first, but tail end is hanging out. There should be litter on the floor with the dodo if she's flinging it out. Watch her next time. You may need a bigger box.

  5.   MAYBE SHE IS HARD OR CONSTIPATED AND HAVING PROBLEEMS AND GETS STUCK ON HER AND SHE IS REMOVING IT HERSELF ON THE FLOOR  ANOTHER THING IS HAIRBALLS GET STUCK AND SOME TIME  THEY GET STUCK IN THEM AND NEED HELP REMOVING IT.........I KNOW THIS BECAUSE THIS SOMETIMES HAPPEN T MY CATS ( long hair)  ND I HAVE 4 OF THEM.........MY OLDEST ONE TRIES TO COVER IT UP SO HARD THAT HE IS TROWING IT ALL OVER THE FLOOR    HE IS 13 YRS..  THIS MAY ALSO BE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH YOU CAT........KEEP A WATCH ON HER AND YOU WILL SEE HOW IT IS  AND SEE WHAT SHE IS DOING...AND THEN  YOU WILL KNOW   .GOOD LUCK...............

  6. my cat flicks her litter out and it drives me crazy all i do is hoover your just gonna have to get a full covered one and see if that solves the problem. look on ebay there will prob be bargins on there

    good luck

  7. How big is your kitty?  My kitty is kind of big and his box is covered.  Unfortunately when he turns just the right way it drops right outside the box. YUCK!!  Good Luck
