My new cockatiel hasnt put its crest thingy down since i got him (yesterday). Is that normal?

Oh yeah no need to worry. he's just on alert. You know how like your eyes get big. It's the cockatiels way of saying. I'm on guard don't forget it!

totally okay. he's getting used to his surroundings

Crest way up- alert, afraid, excited

crest middle- content

crest way down- anger

yeah, they won't put it down until they get used to you. Since they just got moved to a completely new home, that will take a while. They've got to check out their surroundings and make sure they're not being threatened. Just be gentle and don't spook him. He should get used to you in a week or so.

Its normal, it just that he is on alert, coz hes not settled yet and getting used to his surrounding, given time he will settle.

hes being alert. give him a chance to settle in his new environment. it doesnt just take a day
