Question:

My new contacts give me headaches?

I just got new Acuvue 2 contacts with a stronger prescription and they are giving me bad headaches. These are the same exact lens I have been wearing for years, the only change is the prescription. I can see just fine and was able to read the eye chart to my doctors satisfaction. Do my eyes just need to adjust to the new strength of the lens?

Also I noticed sometimes they blur up on me and I have to blink quite a bit before they clear up.

anyone have these problems?

  1. They really shouldn't be giving you headaches. Perhaps they are the wrong size. That would explain the blurriness that goes away with blinking. At any rate, go back in there and tell them your symptoms. New contacts should make headaches go away, not cause them.

  2. Go back to your ophthalmologist. It sounds like they weren't made to your prescription.
