  1. Mix with water some chopped up banana skins and pour onto the roots.

  2. It may have suffered from stress whilst in transit, whilst being planted, or due to the culture that it has had.  If it is in a good warm position, ensure it doesn't good waterlogged, nor allowed to dry out much, until it is established.

Give it a good feed to help strengthen itself,  and it should start to grow away really well.  A balanced fertilizer, or an organic one such as liquid seaweed, will really help.  The leaf chlorosis may signify specific deficiencies,  though as it's new it may just relate to some stress that it has had over recent months.  Fertilizer will help provide the full range of nutrients for it.

I would also add a good mulch or well rotted compost, or even animal manure, as this will help conserve moisture, enabling your fig's roots to spread out and establish the plant well.  It will also release nutrients over a long period too, thus helping its growth.

Check for any signs of infestation, as stressed plants are weakened and more prone to attack.  As it's a deciduous plant,  it will lose all of its leaves come fall/autumn anyway,  and it's unlikely that very damaged leaves will recover, though some of them may green up healthily.   It will largely sprout new healthy leaves that will allow it to photosynthesise as well as ripen its stems, ready for winter time.

Hope this helps.  Good luck!  Rob
