I took in a 4 week old kitten that was going to be killed a few weeks ago and since then have nursed it back to health. He's a good cat my only problem is now that he is healthy etc he's literally crazy just running everywhere, clawing at everything, climbing etc. I don't mind it but it does get too be much at times. How can i get the little guy to calm down a little?

  1. I take a blanket and I roll my cat up and watch him pry his way out. And if that doesn't help, it's time to play, "Duct Tape the Cat" I put a five inch piece of duct tape on his back and he will spend some time trying to pull it off.

  2. well i do fostering for animals and have had too many kittens to count, you really cant do anything to calm him down, but be happy he is healthy and able to play so much!

one thing i do is try to find one or two toys that they love, and they will play for hours with that one toy, or since he's still really little, make him play really hard for a while, and he will sleep after for a long time.

some kittens are just really active while some are lazy, so

    good luck!

  3. shoot it

    Jk

  4. That's how mine is. The best thing i can tell you to do is to buy him a toy or two. If it's still a problem when he's a little older getting him fixed can mellow him out.

  5. play with him yourself.... get him a friend to play with..  the latter is probably the best.. cats seem better in pairs.. a bud for them to play with and sleep with....lots of toys.. a good scratchpad or post...wouldnt hurt either..

  6. feed him fatty foods. food calms everything down :)

    please help me with mine:

  7. Thats how cats are. Deal with it.

  8. aww he sounds really adorable kittens are so great =) but anyways  buy im a scratching post so he will stop clawing and a window perch so he stops climbing, and toys give him toys and trim his nails with cat clippers

  9. Getting another kittenfor your kitten to play with is a good idea. It will keep him occupied and he will want less attention from you. You can also try a natural remedy called "rescue remedy" which calms cats down. You can find this at a health food store.

  10. Kittens are really energetic. Get him lots of toys, scratchposts, and string with feathers attached to the ends.  Get a laser pointer and bounce it all around the room to wear him out.  Make sure he knows he is loved.  Try not to let him sleep too much during the day, or he'll be up all night long!  Odds are if he's a shelter kitty he'll grow out of his insanity phase and will calm down as he ages. (farm and alley kitties on the other hand...)
