Hi people. We just got our kitten yesterday and I understand that a cat tends to be very lazy an usually sleeps ALOT,but yesterday our cat was super playful and it and was eating and all. But today my cat didnt really eat. (Maybe one bite?) And it really hasnt been playful at all and it's only been sleeping, if we wake it or up or it wakes up from anything it goes back to sleep. Can you guys explain to me why it's behavior is like this?

  1. Baby kitties need lots of sleep, especially after being extremely playful. But if you see symptoms of diarrhea or vomit, be sure you take your kitten to a vet.

  2. Well, when a kitten is very sleepy, it is normal. Your kitten playing and eating and being active in one day can lead to drowsiness and being tired the next, seeing though as the kitten may not be used to so much energy yet. As it grows older, the kitten will tend to get used to the high amounts of energy and will play more often.

Also, you say you just got the kitten yesterday... well, it could have been sleeping most of the day yesterday (before you got it), therefore it could be very active as you received it.

  3. well i would wake it up like after 2-5hours of sleep and play with is alot of cats love to play with strings i recommend useing boot stings and stuff like that my cat is almost just the same but she thinks she owns the house and wont even walk on gravel she makes you feed her wet food everyday lol

  4. well if he was up yesterday and playful he/she will need a rest after being so playful.

  5. yeah you;re kitten is gonna sleep ALOT. mine did, she was always sleeping, if you want her to get to know you, even though shes asleep. just pet her as she/he sleeps. don't worry its normal.

  6. cats can easily sleep for 16+ hours! Its totally normal and I wouldn't worry a bit.l

  7. Yesterday was a big day for him...leaving the litter coming to a new home.  If he is eating and using his litter box and doesn't seem to have any signs of illness...sneezing, congestion etc...give him a couple of days..he will be running around in no time..and you will be wishing he was napping :)
