i just got this new surround sound logi tech x530, and the quieter noises like the speech for example isnt coming through on 5.1, the only way to hook hook it up is via the adaptor that came with the set because it has "headphone jack" size jacks orange black and green, which adapts into red and white into the tv. the instructions say it goes into a computer but the box says its for dvd?

  1. Check to see that you have everything connected properly. Ansure the cables are snug and all the way in and the proper color cable is in the right place (in the adapter, on the back of the X-530 and at the DVD player). If that doesn't fix it then see the FAQ below to see if some of your speakers are dead.

  2. Perhaps the inputs of x530 is having 6 inputs, namely front L/R, Rear L/R, Center and Sub woofer. Check the manual. A DVD player will have these audio outputs. You have to match all these connections with your x530. A TV will have just L/R output jacks which you have to match with the front L/R inputs of your x530.

Read the operating manual of x 530 fully. Shurely the problem is in the connection. Proper outputs to inputs of x530 is a must. This is so, for any connection between AV systems.

Check whether your x530 is capable of converting the normal L/R inputs into 5.1. If so activate it.
