  1. if it has a little white plastic ,valve down deep, maybe 2-3 inches tall ,no float, look on the top for a s***w turn 1 way then another, till the water stops,or if it won't stop you will need to replace it ...........or a tower float,in a straight line up-down ,find a stop that the float actuates ,or does it say korkey on the top,the korkey type has a hole with a preset level,no float ,if it's not stopping you will need to replace it ........tom

  2. If the bowl is overflowing you may not have wax ring sitting on the commode flange.  It might be setting to the side restricting the water flow. The toilet bowl should keep flushing and not run over.  If the tank is overflowing you most likely only need to adjust the ballcock .

    Good Luck

  3. Just follow Robert F's answer and your cistern will stop waisting water. I was about to give you the same advise but I checked back and read his answer.

  4. The tank (upper portion) is overflowing  out onto the floor or into the bowl (lower portion) ?

The ball **** may need to be adjusted If the rod type there should be a s***w in the top s***w it in about 1/2 turn at a time the water level should settle at about 1 in below the overflow tub.you should have to remove some water and let it fill untill it stops.

If the float is around the fill valve it is a bit trickyer they have either a slip and turn or slip ring system

  5. The only suggestion I can offer is that the float needs to be adjusted.

Remove the cistern cover and adjust it accordingly.

  6. The float needs adjutsing

Doesnt make any difference if its a ball valve or anything else, just have to limit the amount of water going into the cistern, doent matter if its a handle flush or a push flush

They aere all the same, just different designs
