My newborn has a cold in her eye what can i do

gently wipe her eye clean with an anti-bacterial wipe until you can take her to the pediatrician. The reason for the anti-bacterial wipe is to clean it up so you won't expose it into the other eye. I get it from time to time and if I clean it with a wipe like that, it sometimes go away.

if its pink it has pink eye and you will need drops it is very catchy

Most likely, she has a blocked tear duct.  They can give you tobramicin drops but they usually tell you to use your pinky finger and massage the inside of her eye several times a day.
