  1. Most babies lose weight during their first week and then get back up to their birth weight by the time they are two weeks old. Since she is over her birth weight,

Also, newborns usually gain about two-thirds of an ounce each day. So if she was 7lb. 1oz. at about 6 days of life, then she gained 5 ounces over the next 7 days, which is still well within normal expectations.

but if your that worried call your pediatrician

    good luck

  2. No need to be overly concerned as it is normal to lose some weight ( up to 10%).  However, in your case it is over 10% of weight loss from birth date and since the baby now weights less than 5 lbs (2.26kg only), you should take him to the doctor. Are you breastfeeding (in which case, has the milk supply been established?) or formula?

Our son lost around 360 grams in the first 3 days as well, but he was born 7lbs, 1oz, so it was not a big deal at all and  he gained it all back at the end of the week (milk started flowing in 2-3 days).

    Good luck.

  3. thats normal. a lot of newborns do that.  nothing to worry about just keep doing what you doing.

  4. How old is the baby?

A newly born child will lose weight, but any older than 3 weeks... I would worry since that's almost 1 pound weight loss... babies should be gaining weight not losing weight.

Edit...  I guess I should read your question thoroughly.  Your baby is lost weight in his first week.  Weight loss is normal, but he really should be gaining back that weight in the next couple weeks.
