My nipple piercing mightve been infected?

I kept applying the cleaning solution for piercings, and now instead of always seeping (skin that had been inflamed on the skin under my nipple, where the bottom of the ring touched) it is dry and peeling. Its still itchy, and sore. Does this mea its heling, and he infection is going away?
