  1. Explain in detail. Does it just not accelerate at all, or does it accelerate very slowly? Is it manual or automatic? If it's automatic, maybe you're stuck in a high gear. The other reason I can think of is a malfunction in your engine.

  2. The 1.8 liter inline 4 is why it won't accelerate. To fix it, you need to install a Chevrolet 440 Big Block V8.

  3. Yes you have to be as specific as possible.

  4. its a 1.8, not a race car

  5. I would think the Service Engine Soon light would be on .  If so then there will be a diagnostic trouble code to help pinpoint the system / circuit / component having a problem...

If it has the electric throttle body, ( no throttle cable ), then it may be in fail-safe mode (due to a faulty throttle body assembly), will also stay in second gear, and not accelerate until out of fail-safe mode.

how fast does the car go?

  6. blown transmission?
