My nose ring is difficult to get back in,help needed?

Ive had my nose pierced for about 6 or 7 weeks and changed it within 2 to 3 weeks after piercing it.

I was pierced with a needle, not a gun, and also they used a stud.

I changed the stud to a stainless silver hoop, and i have changed it before now and it was easy as butter to get through, but now, Its extreamly painful and difficult to change from a stud to a hoop back agian, could I possibly "lube it up" and slide it in and it would be simpler? I also had an abscess above my nose and its gone now, leaving alot of dry skin, could the inside me dry? maybe thats the issue

So since I've had my nose pierced there have been times when it was hard to get a stud out and in. The once I use have a ball on the end of it so it wont fall out and that is kinda like gauging it a little. If I ever have any trouble getting any jewelry in I try doing it in the shower.
