My obgyn's office keeps changing the balance I owe...?

When they first set up my OB package in 09/07 they set up a paymnt plan so that I would have it paid off by 03/08. I agreed to it and signed off on it.

As I was set to make my final payment of $91 last month they informed me that I still owed $437. I contested it and brought in my copy of the agreement on my next visit. They admitted to having commited an error but said I still owed $321.

My husband went ahead and payed the amout and the account was settled as PAID IN FULL.

Yesterday I received a bill from the for $427!

Is there anything I can do about this or can they continue to charge me whatever they want?

They have given me breakdowns of what I have been charged for and what insurance paid for but that's why a package was established months ago!

It seems pointless to spend $ on an attorney over this which will cost more than the bill.

Is there ANYTHING i can do? I don't even know where to start!

This isn't an insurance question.  

LIkely that amount you paid, someone either credited it to the wrong account, or overlooked it, and gave you the wrong amount again.

Once again, you'll have to bring back YOUR paperwork to the office, and ask to talk to the office manager.  Be sure to mention that if it keeps happening, you're going to expect a further discount off the fees for your inconvenience, and a refund issued for the discount amount on the spot.

What may have happened is that your insurance did not pay what the agreement originally assumed.

Call them and ask what it will take to shut them up...cough up the money and let it go
