Okay I am thirteen years old and I simply have absolutely no idea in what job I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life. I know, I know, I have a long way to go, and only time will tell. But frankly, I want to at least want to have an idea -- or goal? For starters--I KNOW I am going to college, for me, college is not an option, it is a priority. Yet I am clueless of what college to go to because I do not have a certain profession plan. Also I want to know which jobs are most successful and what can I do now so that it will help me later on in the future. So... anyone have any ideas that are actually helpful and do not insist on waiting?

Okay, okay, if it does insist on me having to wait until I realize what i want to do, type it anyway... i guess I will need all the advice I can get before I go crazy surfing the web on what colleges and professions I want to keep when I "grow-up".

  1. Pole Dancer.  Great money, stay in shape, and you meet lots of guys that way!

  2. first think about if you like helping people then you might want to be a physical therapist, dentist, or a psychologist

Are you an animal lover then you might be a veterinarian, a vet tech a dog breeder, or working in a zoo.

Or maybe children be a teacher, a pre-school teacher, day-care provider.

Think about what interests you and then go from there.

Do you want to be far from your family or closer to visit more often when you are at college? See what each college has to offer you have plenty of time still.  good luck to you

  3. You're only 13- it's very mature that you are thinking this far in advance but you may be thinking TOO far in advance. I personally would wait until highschool to begin thinking about colleges since your mind is likely to change at this age.

Enjoy being 13- go to the mall, paint your nails, go to.. cheetah girls concerts or whatever 13 year old girls do! You will have plenty of time to worry about college after puberty.

I guess to give you a heads up- Liberal Arts degrees though somewhat vague can afford you with a mirad of career options. Sometimes, when you get a 'niche' degree, you are faced with a lot of limitations once you graduate.

  4. trust me it will hit you in the face near the end of 11...

    just dont worry about it

just see what u find interesting in all the classes you do and that will help you with your career pick :)

  5. You are not too young to start wondering about your future - just don't make yourself crazy worrying about it.

Your aptitudes and personal preferences will play a large part in what you do, but I suggest you get a professional degree such as a CPA, doctor, lawyer, dentist, architect.  This isn't a complete list, but it will give you an idea of what I am talking about.

These professions offer many advantages -

    A comparatively high annual salary

You can get a job pretty much anywhere

You can set up your own practice and be self employed

You can specialize in a variety of disciplines

No matter what you chose to do, be the best student you possibly can.  Take a wide variety of electives in high school to give you a well rounded education and for exposure to different subjects.  College can be very expensive, so achieving the highest grades possible with a strong transcript will open many doors for academic scholarships.

    Good luck to you!
