My office chair?

It goes all the way down when I sit on it and comes right back up when i stand up without the aid of the lever beneath the seat. how can i fix it?

  1. Make sure the lever is not jammed and pressing the pin on the gas cylinder.  Sometimes these things bend or get out of position.  If the lever is working OK, then unless it is a very expensive chair, a complete replacement is cost effective.

  3. Tighten up the adjustment s***w on the bottom of the stand.

  4. Get a new chair, it's just old and used. Could be the amount of weight that goes on it, but I'm not sure...
