My oil cap was loose on my 07 scion tc, oil leaked, will this mess up my motor?

ok so the oil was changed about two weeks ago, im guessing my dumb self didnt tighten the filler cap enough, and its been leaking oil, about a half quart, i have search yahoo answers and found mixed answers. the main question is will this cause major damage to the engine? is there any way i can check if the engine is okay. is there anything that could quickly fix it if it is damaged.

its highly unlikely you did any damage  check oil and make sure its at correct level and keep oil cap tight

It is fine, don't worry about it too much, just make sure you stop the leak and keep the right amount of oil in it. An engine can run with over 1 quart missing, so only 1/2 is nothing.

Your car can run on 1qt of oil with no damage to the engine it will be fine

Umm nothing is damaged. Top the oil off and go to a car wash and carefully wash the oil off.
