My oil filter came lose once but I'm not sure why I did hit a raccoon right there?

It is possible that the filter was not tighted enough to begin with.   I did that once because I was being careful and I didn't want to over tighten it.

Oil filter rattled loose from vibration because it wasn't tightened down.  3/4 - 1 full turn after the gasket makes contact, just like the directions say on the filter and on the box it came in.  A raccoon's paws are not big enough to grab onto the oil filter.
