it goes by watts and they arent working or sounding rite because your stereo cant hold the muchs watts so you need to get an amp and hook them up to the amp

I'm not really sure what exactly you are asking but, from what I gather - you need to buy a speaker amplifier. That will up the power quite a bit.

Now, if you hooked up more powerful speakers, and they aren't giving ANY output, there is something wrong.

There should be sound coming from them anyway.
