Your question is a bit confusing.

1. Did you hook up the converter box between the cable and the TV?  If so, that is not going to work.  The converter boxes are only of Over The Air TV.  Cable and Over The Air use two incompatible systems.

2. Did you connect the converter box to a good antenna and then to your TV?  If you are still not getting a signal, you may need a better antenna.  Look at http://www.antennaweb.org and put in your ZIP code to see what digital stations are on the air in your area.  It will also give you guidance on where to point your antenna.
