My older cousin molested me when I was younger. Should I tell his wife and parents?

I was molested several times by him. I know he is going to deny it, and it will bring a lot of friction between his family and mine. I recently told my mom and she told me to let it go because it was many years ago and it will cause more hurt if it's brought out into the open.

  1. Raise h**l and humiliate him!

MAKE A POLICE RECORD about it, and say that you didnt report it sooner because you felt that you just couldnt. I think you should tell the whole world, seriously.

Does your mother think about you, the way youve been hurt by this person!? no, she only thinks about them and al the other ignorant people in the family, not wanting to 'hurt' them.

Do what you think is right  but the fact that your posting here means you want to tell his wife and his parents.

DO IT. Honestly, you have nothing to lose. so what if they dont talk to you? do you really give a f***??

i would never see them again anyway. literally.

  2. It happened a while ago, I guess it's kinda awkward to bring it up now. What do you want to get out of it? Just telling everyone, or do you want something done?

  3. If you want to tell you should. I've been molested and it did feel better after I let my mom know. It might be good to tell his wife anyway incase he is around any kids. My uncle did it to me and we had to let my other aunt know because she has a younger daughter so we had to make sure that it hadn't happened to her or that it won't happen to her. So, if you think he may do this to other people you should let someone else know. And even if it may hurt their relationship it might be worth as rude as it is to say. Most people would rather know the truth and should even if it hurts.

  4. As hard as it would be, please break this cycle and tell.  How old is he now and how long ago did his happen?  I would speak to a counselor first or another family member that will support you emotionally.  His children could be at risk.
