My oldest dog gaurds both food bowls please help!!?

my oldest dog midnight gaurds both bowls and my younger dog prince just then dosent eat and when i come home from school the younger one still hasnt eaten! what do i do to make sure midnight dosent gaurd both bowls when i am not home?!

  1. Don't free feed.

    Feed them separately - giving them 20 minutes to eat, twice a day


  2. The way I solved this problem was to get different shaped food bowls.Let him know that is his bowl and put it as far away from the other bowl as possible so he cant get to it quickly.In my case opposite sides of a large yard.

  3. Try feeding them separately, and away from each other. Also, in the future, whenever you are letting your dogs eat, make sure that you are petting them so that they are food friendly.  

  4. Put something on or near the other bowl that he doesn't like (but prince does) to make him not go near it anymore. Or put the other bowl in an area that midnight cannot get to or doesn't like to go but prince does.

  5. get a trainer
