  1. thrift stores always come in handy, too. i wore a LOT of clothes from thrift stores when i was in high school...

  2. If you have a ROSS store in your area thet's the best place to go. they have all the same brands as Mervyn's and Khol's but are cheaper the Wal-mart.

  3. Hi, I'm 13 and my mom teaches me to go for a bargain :P I like to shop at Wal-Mart because things are so cheap, sometimes people at school ask me where I got my sweater or hoodie from and they can't believe when I say Wal-Mart. I also get my clothes from some of the cheaper stores, I find it kind of silly sometimes how expensive some things can be when I can find something almost exactly like it for half the price!

  4. Try JCPenneys- Better quality than Walmart and a good price.

50 is way too much to spend on a kids pair of pants.

  5. You can find some good fashionable bargain's at  Walmart, it's not wise to blow your budget for a couple of items of clothing, also Check out Kohl's or Peebles for some great deals, and also check out clearance racks at other stores/

  6. Thirteen is a good age to start teaching about budgeting. The parents who buy their kids everything are doing them a disservice when they are forced to make their own financial decisions.

  7. If you have a Plato's Closet in your area go to it. It's a second hand store but they have all the brand name clothing like Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale. All the stores you would find in the mall they have clothes from them stores. Don't worry about the clothes being disgusting because they aren't Plato's Closet does not take anything that doesn't look BRAND NEW. Plus they sell things very cheap like shirts 3-8 dollars jeans are around 12-22 hoodies go for 12 dollars it's a good deal and no body will even notice that she got them from there. I have never been there but have heard so many good things about the store from close family and friends. Just try it out she will LOVE it! Good luck!!! (:

  8. go to ross. make sure you tell your kid that age old saying, "money does not grow on trees!" most kids need to understand the value of the dollar. make sure to let her know that she is fortunate to even be shopping for new clothes. some children dont have clothes to buy, or receive hand me downs, if not shopping at the goodwill. children nowadays need more understanding and respect of how a dollar is made and how far it can go. good luck
