My on demand wont work on cable box, ive tried unplugging to reset but still its showing ''not avi...err code.

Well, contacting them to send a signal to your converter is the only thing you can do.....for now.

Let me guess, Comcast???? I have to call them at least once a month due to soooo many problems!
