My one year old dog has red eye?

I left my dog at a kennel for 8 days while away on vacation and i saw she had one red eye when i got her back. i mentioned it at kennel and they said she was tired. well 6 days later she still has red eye. my vet said to give her benedryl and see if it improves. it is the same so i am taking her to vet tomorrow. anyone else have this happen with their pet? what was it? i am thinking she may have been playing rough with other dogs. she is only 10 pds/

Benedryl won't change anything.. It's basically only going to help a skin related allergy problem. The dog needs to see the vet. Likely he was barking the whole time you left him at the kennel.
