I have a problem with my oscar fish that i recently bought (small)2 inches long . 1 1/2 week after i bought him, he jumped out of the tank one night(didnt put lid on tank) when i wasnt in my room so when i came back like 5-7 min later i found him on the floor. I immedietly put him bank in the tank and he recovered after 25 min. The next day his eyes turned all gray as if there was an extra coating over his eyes and he suddenly started losing his color in certain parts of his body as if bleach splashed on him. What can i do to fix these problems? Please i dont want him to die.

  1. its fine, it just needs to regain its slime coat.

unless its got a fungal infection from the stress of its accident..

if its not better within a couple days, then it fungus...  treat it or ur oscar will die...

  2. add 1 tablespoon of non iodized salt for every 5 gallons of water and raise his tank temp up to 85 deg this is about all you can do for him right now

  3. what gallon tank you have him in? how big is he? and do you have clean water a filter and heater?
