I have a 115hp mercuryoutboard that wont turn over. It cranks fine but I get now Spark in the plugs. I checked the 3 wires to the distributer and onlyone has got juice. What is wrong here. The distributor has a yellow, black, and brown wire coming off of it to the switch panel. Help Please!

  1. could be a number of problems  but its definitly electrical

    could be the switch boxes

probaly the stator under the flywheel  you would need an owners manuel to test each part  the best thing is to take it to a marine repair shop and let them do it

the good thing is its not working so it will be easy to diagnose the bad thing is they get about 100 dollars an hour   a stator is going to cost about 300 dollars  switch box i did it myself cost about 100 dollars  good luck

  2. the same with happened with ours....there is a small black box in the motor which runs the current through it...... i would suggest getting the motor checked out by a pro and possibly get the box changed because it has been the problem with alot of outboards

  3. If it cranks it;s turning over,It sounds like the problem is it,s not starting when it does and a lot of thinks can cause that, time to have it checked out
