My 1 year old cat Tiger has been missing for 1 week and I'm not sure what to do. He's never been gone this long before. I'm afraid he might not come back.

  1. the same thing happened to me. outdoor cats disappear all the time but a week is a long time. after about a week i started going door to door and asking if my cat had been spotted. after just two houses, someone said they found her but she was hurt so they called animal control. this could be the same situation. i would call animal services and see if they have a picked up a cat in your area. i was extremely lucky because animal services told us they took my cat to a vet and we called the vet, went down, and picked her up. i wish you the best of luck

  2. OH BOY! trouble. cats love to wander.

Put up signs and search like crazy! When my cat was gone for a day I knew she was a gonner. She never came back and I don't know what happened to her.

But SOME cats are smart and do come back, so don't loose hope

  3. Post Pictures of him everywhere in your town and put your phone number on the paper so when the people find your cat, they could call you!!

  4. he if comes back get a litter box and keep him inside its not that hard im 12 years old and i have a cat named buba ive kept him inside he likes looking out the door but now he is afraid of going outside it just takes a little more effort with the liter box but its not hard trust me

  5. maybe put up posters

    or go look for him

  6. First of all i am so sorry bout Tiger. I lost my 2 year old cat 5 weeks ago. All we can do is hope they come back..

    Hope he turns up.

  7. put up missing signs around your area

  8. it depends if u have coyotes because i've had them and they ate my cat!! it was terrible! or racoons they can get in fights....and yeah.

i hope the best for ur cat and im sorry that ur cat has been missing.

  9. Remember that a cat can never go astray unless its arrested by someone else and/or has come across a fatal road accident.  All you you to do is to be patient and that it will come back to you, if it is alive.

  10. I would drive (or walk/bike) around town a little bit, if you don't see him, go to the pound and ask if they've picked up your cat (take pictures of your cat with you) if the pound hasn't picked him up, I'd start putting missing posters up.

Also, if he's an outdoor cat, I'd invest in getting a chip implanted in him, I think there is a chip that also has GPS in it...or it could be a collar that has a little GPS thing on it.

Or even an invisible fence used for dogs, that MIGHT work for cats.

    Hope you find him ok!

  11. I would also contact your local animal shelter and see if anyone turned him in.  My neighbor's cat was "missing" for a week -- he was at the SPCA when she checked with them.

  12. does he have tags and i'm sorry to say he may be hurt or dead. cats are consistent they always come back unless thy're hurt or dead

  13. check the shelters and hope for the best, put up signs. it will keep you busy and help you feel you're doing something & lots of pets do turn up at shelters. a contractor who has lots of cats said his was missing for 8 months, turns out it ended up staying with a neighbor and had a good home (better than dead or injured, right?). another went missing 4 months, turns out she went back to where they used to live and finally made it home. animals are amazing. i hope yours comes home soon. i've lost some that way only lived in the country so fear it was coyotes. they were even indoor/outdoor kitties but we always got them in at night. it's odd for them to leave, but at a year maybe he was acting like a tom. i hope he returns safe & sound!!!

  14. Any number of things could have happened to him. This is the danger of having an outdoor cat. Keep your cat's safely indoors from now on. Here's hoping he comes home in one piece.

  15. I'm sorry about the loss of your cat. My cat recently vanished for five days but he wandered back home. Contact the nearest humane societies and animal control to report him missing. Put up missing posters around your neighborhood. Another reason he may be missing is that many cat litters are almost full grown and the female cats are going back into heat. He may have wandered out to find a mate and could be back shortly. Hopefully you find him!

  16. My heart goes out to you.  I will pray that your little kitty finds its way home very soon!  Don't give up hope ever, because there are tons of miracle stories where lost pets come home!!

I would start with lots and lots of signs.  Post them anywhere and everywhere.  Hand them out to neighbors and kids.  Also state on the sign that there is a reward.  It will make people look harder I promise (ecspecially kids) and it doesn't have to break the bank.  Then spread the word by mouth.  Also take a bed or something that your cat likes to lay on and place it outside (but away from the rain or anything).  By placing that outside it helps the cat to smell home.  Also maybe place a small amount of food outside for it.  Check the shelters in your area DAILY too.

I bet someone just thought your kitty was lost and took it in.  Or maybe he just went off looking for a girlfriend!

Good luck and keep your hopes up!

  17. he will be back.

male cats have a tendancy to wonder off for a while.

get him fixed and he will stay closer to home and not get into any/as many "cat fights."

    best of luck

    =)

  18. he may went in search of female cats. don't worry he will be back soon

  19. Drive around your neighborhood and see if you can find him. Check alleys.

Make "Lost" posters if he still hasn't returned after that one week.

  20. He may have been killed, taken in by someone else, or taken by animal control. If you're going to let your cats roam outdoors, which you shouldn't, then expect this to happen.

  21. is he fixed? if not he is roaming. my cat kiki once roamed for almost two weeks once and he scared the h**l out of me. give it a little while, he should be back. best of luck.

  22. uhhhhhh the first simplest easiest thing a smart person would do is put up signs and go to the local shelter and see if its there also is it microchipped?
