This outlet powers my garden watering system (no wonder the plants have been looking dry and wilty), outdoor lights, and a small fountain. I checked the circuit breaker and all seems fine. Any other ideas suggestions?

  1. call an electrician! Try to find someone that does free estimates!

  2. Check to see if the outlet is not connected to a switch by the door inside. I have two outlets outside that are connected to switches inside by the door. If someone doesn't know this and turns off the switch,,, the power is also turned off to the outlets.

  3. All outdoor electrical outlets are required by code to have a GFI reipt. attached. This is a resetable control at the recept. Check this with a known load--lamp, or light, then check your electrical supply. If there is power, then whatever you were trying to power is the fault. Good luck!

  4. It is likely a GFI receptacle, more so if it was built recently.  Look for a little button on it, and push the button.  It should stay in.  If there is no button, it may be wired from a GFI receptacle nearby, or on the other side of the wall.  Again, look for little buttons and push them.  If that does *not* work, contact an electrician.

  5. Take something like a hair dryer and plug it into the outlets inside near the kitchen, or a mudroom etc.  At my home, I have two outside outlets, one near the back door and one near the front.  The GFI outlets are at the back door/kitchen area but if it kicks off, neither outside outlet works.  When you find the indoor outlet that isn't working, you should see the button the other people are talking about.  Reset it and see if the hair dryer starts working, if it does then your outside outlet should work too.

  6. 1)      flip the circuit breaker all the way to the off position and then turn it on again.

    2)        does the outlet circuit have any GFI recepticles on it?? if htey do it may bepopped off,,,reset it

    3)         still no luck?? call the neighbor over

  7. Its possible that you have more than one outdoor outlet. If that is the case, one of the outlets will be a GFCI and will control the rest of the outlets. Check and see if the GFCI has tripped. There's a pretty good chance that is what the problem is.

  8. this is going to sound weird, but check all of your GFI receptacles, outside, kitchen, bathroom ect.  trust me I have charged people just for going a pushing a button
