  1. The DNS code is entered into your computer, in the network settings.

If you are running Windows XP  go to Start>Settings>Control Panel (or Control Panel)>Network Connections (Classic View)>Right Click on the Local Area Connection icon and choose properties

Find the item labeled Internet Protocol TCP/IP  in the "This connection uses the following items" in the properties box and double click it.

When the Internet Protocol Properties box comes up make sure that the DOT is in Use the Following DNS server address.  Then Enter the DNS numbers your were given by your ISP.

    Then click OK.

NOTE: It is NOT normal to have you enter DNS numbers,   Most ISP want you to use obtain a DNS address automatically.

If you find that you had numbers already in the box they may have been the wrong ones. This will prevent you from getting e-mail or going to web sites.  Either enter the numbers you were given or put a dot in obtain a DNS address automatically.
