  1. ok well you need stong arms to have a hard serve so lift weights.when you serve make sure you have a good toss, then hit it in the pom of your hand hard while it is still in the air. if you want to do a short serve whiich can be very affective if they scoot back then through it up and hit it more up then out.

good luck and i hope you make it!

  2. u know what im in a volleyball team and we have the same problem at first when im new in the team..i kept on practing until i succeed..this is my tip..u hit the ball with all ur might and power ok!? and dont throw the ball very high and also dont throw the ball vey far from you!!ok!?good luck and god bless!!take care!!

  3. I have to same problem!! If you are right handed, place right leg in front, throw ball high into air, step and follow through with left leg!! It worked for me!!

  4. get a good toss and contact the ball when you are looking at it.  your arm should be fully extended when you hit it.  use your hips for more power!

  5. hey, great question..i stuggled with this for a number of years..and well the best way to get better is just too practice practice practice!!! ...but well your probably wonderin how to practice and i'm gona tell you...the number one thing to remember is to make in simple and not exagerated like some people do.....practice your toss...the toss is the KEY to a good serve no matter what kind it is. Then put your arm just slightly back and above your ear...toss the ball and then swing strait down and followthrough. Also a good way to practice is to move up to the 10ft line and then serve and make it 3 times before you let yourself move back two or more steps..this lets you see what spot you really need to practice...i really hope this helps you.

    good luck!!!

  6. First of all you need to be comitted.  Weight lift to gain arm strength.  Try just throwing the ball over the net and aim it to where you want to serve.  When you can do that in your sleep try giving yourself a throw just over thepoint where the tips of your fingers would be with your arm extended fully.  Act like you're throwing it but open your hand.  Remember this: One step and drag  your toe.

With this and practice you should be ready to kill the opponents with your serve.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. okay, the best way that ever helped me out was hitting the volleyball agaisnt a wall. However hit the ball like you are doing a spike. You hit the ball to the ground, the ball will hit the wall and before it hits the ground again hit, this will make you have a full extend arm rotation. Most people when they overhand serve do not bend the knees or walk into the serve that might help you as well.

Good luck and i hope you make the team.

  8. if you are a righty, put your right foot forward with your weight back on the left foot, toss the ball high enough for yourself then pull your right arm back and elbow up (almost the height of where your ear is) your right hand should be pretty much by your ear. then move your weight forward by stepping with your left foot forward and swing through.  For your hitting hand it is kind of like a bow and arrow (the way you pull your arm back)

    well good luck-

  9. stand at a 45 degree angle so that your hips face that way. toss the ball with the tips of your finger. THE SERVE IS IN THE TOSS! hit the ball with a solid hand and make sure the ball hits from the center of your hand for a floater. make sure you close your shoulder to ensure the ball landing in the court.

this is what my club coach always says. good luck!
