  1. I'd guess that you are watching standard definition material on the projector, and high def on the HDTV, or you are watching broadcast TV on the projector and cable or satellite on the HDTV.  

    Standard def channels and high def channels are generally not broadcast simultaneously (same for cable vs. OTA broadcasts).  It is not a question of the tuner tuning the signal more slowly but the actual broadcast itself that is delayed with HD.

    If you are using a cable box or satellite box, then send the component outputs to the projector and the HDMI to the HDTV and you should see the images at the exact same time.

       I assume your not sending HD to the projector? It takes longer for a tuner to process HD then SD. The result is a delay on the HD. It's also possible the TV takes longer to decode the HD the the projector does.
