My own trading card game.?

Once upon a time, i created my own trading card game, it mixed ellements of magic the gathering, pokemon, and yu gi oh. the mixture allowed to to seem original. i printed off 50 different cards and a entire set of rules, but i moved and lost the box containing all the paper stuff, and i had to reformat my computer. the thing that bugs me most is that i had always wanted to try and get it out there, even if it failed, to just get a couple people into it. my question is, would this be a thing that you could pitch to a company? or is there another way?

also if there is a way, should i go through the trouble of recreating the game?

YES!

You should definitely continue with this idea. Also, don't go to a company unless you *really* want to or you've exhausted all other resources. Create your own company. Make your own name. If you must use a pre-existing company, choose a local mom-and-pop one or something a little larger, but not a major million/billion dollar corporation. They'll suck you dry and leave you with little more than chump change.

As for recreating the game, I would say definitely do it. You have what you want in your head, right? You've made it before, right? Well, make it again and IMPROVE upon the idea. You know how novelists write several drafts of their book (or h**l, even chapters), send it to the publisher, then rewrite it AGAIN to please the publisher, and then AGAIN to please the editor, and then AGAIN just for the h**l of it--just to get it beyond perfection? Well, how are you any different? Make drafts of this game. You made the first one, now make the second and so on. Do NOT give up on this or you'll constantly regret it.

I'm rooting for you, and if in a few years I see your cards out on the market, I'll be sure to pick up a few packs and check out what your final creation was.

Sounds like you had really had something going and you should persue this more.  Reprint them and improve more on your ideas.  Just be careful though.  If you are going to do this, make sure that you are not using anything that involves legal rights. (copyright of card names, how their abilities work, etc).  Ask the companies for their consent if you think that it might cause issues.  I would first suggest you try and start your own company.  If you get into this business with another company, they are most likely take a large portion of your profits just because you used them to advertise, build on your idea, and sell.  It would probably build faster with another company but try on your own first.

If you really want to spend the time and if you think this could be the next big hit, I would say go for it.
