My package was sent from China on July 23 2008. in customs. what if it doesn't release

My package was sent from China on July 18, 2008 and it passed a week already . Everybody says it's only supposed to be in customs up to a week. I don't want to wait anymore. Its been too long. who should i contact at this point? all the posts state that their package was held in customs but all have been released.

It depends on the contents of the package.

If you have bought goods from China then you have to pay duty, unless the have filled the despatch forms as containing gifts.  If the package is being shipped by EMS the chinese post office it takes upto 21 days sometimes longer.  This is because of the hold up with customs and the amount of different airports and depots it passes through.  But it will arrive.
