Question:

My panasonic home theater system, it wont work. It says INT F61. Help!?

It starts up but right after it starts up it shows the INT F61 i tried calling panasonic but they werenot to helpfull.

  1. F61 is an audio output error.

    Check your speaker connections.  Be sure that they are connected cleanly with no stray wires causing a cross connection or a short circuit.

    If the speaker connections are fine and the error persists, then it is likely that your unit will require service; the likely culprit is a bad amplifier IC or any related components in the power amplifier circuit.  With most home theater systems, component-level repair can be very labor-intensive since most parts are not easily accessible with these kinds of products, unlike true separate components.

    If the unit is under warranty, claim it.  

    If you can return the item for an exchange, do it.  

    If repair is required but you have to pay for it and the estimate is more than the component is worth, replace it.  

    And, if you do replace, don't buy Panasonic audio again.  They're okay for car audio, their Technics line is good but limited to specific professional applications (DJ duty, etc.), but they aren't that great for home audio anymore.  Try to get a Denon or an Onkyo HTiB if an all-in-one is what you're after.  You'll pay more, but you get what you pay for.
