  1. My bird flew away and we did the same thing.. but he never came back

    good luck though

  2. sorry i think its gone thats what happened with mine and also my cockatiel wich my ghetto aunt "accidently" let go when i was on vacation and we didnt take her

  3. It is a bird unfortunately for you it will most likely not come back. bird seeds vs your precious freedoms. What would you choose?

I am expected to be supportive but how, the chances that he has not gone very far a way are very slim

    Best of luck,

    Vladimir G.

  4. I'm sorry for your loss.....I had the same problem with my pet parakeet. I was so sad when i lost him.

  5. Let your neighbors and friends know you lost a bird. Posts an ad in the local paper. That way if someone else finds him, there's a chance they could hear about you and realize it's your bird. Or at least, if someone sees him, you'll get an idea of where he is.

  6. Well, I had a parakeet and he flew away and he never came back :(

  7. You can look around the yard and the neighbors.  if your lucky he may not have gone far.  You will still likely need a net or at least a pillow case to try to catch him as any attempt to will likely scare him off.  My wife recused an escaped parakeet once but she used a sheet as a net AND is vey good with birds in general.

But in general cage birds, once out in the wild, have a lot of trouble understanding how to "get home."  They arent like cats who will roam and come back.

This is why I keep my brids wings clipped and keep most of them indoors.  The only one who goes on walks is the macaw and he has his wings clipped,  wears a full harness and leash AND has a chip in his shoulder for reocognition just in case he somehow got out and away.

  8. i don't think it can find its way back

unfortunately, since it wasn't raised in the wild, it will most likely starve or get eaten by a stray cat

  9. I though pet parakeets are always clipped...

  10. Don't get another parakeet. They must not like you.

  11. Let ALL your neighbours know.. the more people aware, the more chance of finding your parakeet.
