So what I can do to get him to stop talking back. He gets loud and squacking on purpose, and I have resorted to throwing threats at him when I am cooking dinner. However it only works if I am quatering a chicken. Any ideas?

  1. I don't think throwing treats is the right approach. That could be considered cruel. Cover the cage or whisle, talk to him or spend time with him might help. Good luck and remember you catch more flies with honey than vinger!!!!

  2. That's really annoying. What works with my parakeet is tricking him into thinking its nighttime. Cover the cage in an old t shirt or sheet and your bird will go to sleep.

  3. Well, he wants to be part of the action!

Go "SSHHH!"  This should shut him up for a short time.

Put a towel over the cage when you want him to be quiet, but don't do this excessively.

  4. my birds always get loud when I'm cooking dinner, and I believe it is because I share my dinner with them, try giving your baby a treat when you are about to make dinner or give your baby some dinner when you eat and maybe things will change, they generally make noise when they want attention,so give him some, millet works great most birds love that!
