  1. Take your bird to a pet shop, or a local vet.  He does not have to be an avian vet.  Have them clip your birds wings and show you how to do it.  It is very simple to do, but the instructions need to be while you are with the person showing you how to do it.  If you happen to cut to short, the bird could bleed to death in a matter of and hour or less.

  2. Be sure you do this only after the bird has learned to fly.

Cheaper than a vet is the pet store.  It's not that hard.  A good pet store probably has someone there who does this all the time and will do it for $5-$10.  They might even do it for free if you're a good customer or they like birds as more than $.

If you're adventurous enough it's pretty easy once someone shows you how.  I know this clip from youtube to be accurate:

  3. You need an avian vet.  Call around and see if anyone in your area is experienced with parakeets.  You might also call local pet shops to see if they known of anyone with the experience to handle the needs of your companions.

  4. how do you infact know that your birds wants its feathers clipped?

Im just asking cause your questions states that she wants it? :)

  5. call your vets and ask if they have a "board certified bird vet.".  that means they secialize in birds

  6. Hello,

Call around, you may even have to drive to someone.

I would not trust just any pet shop these days (some of the employees are mind dead).

Find someone who could teach you if you are comfy with it (such as a vet like the vet who answered your question). .

I learned while working for breeders of exotics many moons ago.

Good luck and get on the phone and call around.

  7. an avian vet will be able to help you and will even teach you how to do it if you wish to carry on having there wings clipped after the moult.

but your birds must learnt to fly and land first!

its not best to do it yourself as there risk of blood feathers and such

ask in a local pet shop if they know of any place willing to do it

and well done for saying "Please answer if you have the EXPIRENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

i find so many people on here that give random anwsers and no nothing

  8. Did she really tell you she would like this done?

  9. Why does your bird want it's flight feathers cut?????

There is no reason why you should cut your birds wings, they were meant to fly.

I have never cut birds wings in all the years I have had them,(I can cut  them) But if you must then find a breeder it is an easy thing to do or even where you purchased your birds from.

Please don't do it.your birds will loose all confidence in you.
