  1. Introduce some other hard wooden things to chew on.  Their beaks continue to grow and it is natural for them to chew to keep them short.  It won't hurt them to chew the wooden perch, and they are relatively inexpensive to replace.

  2. This is perfectly normal behaviour, just be gad they're chewing wooden toys instead of plastic ones. I have a cockatiel who always chews through the third rung on his ladder. Luckily, perches aren't so hard to replace, nor are they very expensive.

It could, however, be that they are trying to  hone their beaks, so to speak. Not too likely, birds often just like to chew/bite things for fun (maybe you could supply them with those seed log things), but you could try getting them one of those nail trimming perches that are made of stone. It'd be good for them anyway.

  3. I experienced this same problem with the wood dowels that came with the cage. Parakeets like to shred and that is what they are doing. I replaced the perch with a sandy perch and a manzanita perch. There is no way to stop it, it's a natural behavior.  Also provide them with toys they can shred and cuttlebone.

  4. They do that too keep their beak sharp and short. Its like us when we cut our nails.I suggest you get those purches with sand paper around it,so their nails wont get unhealthy and long either.
