  1. Your first mistake is to have more than one.  When you have a tame parakeet and add another one, the tame one always attaches to the new one and detaches from their human.

The only thing you can do at this point is to handle them a lot and feed them out of your hand. ALL THE TIME.  This will make them realize where their food is coming from.  Hopefully, if you're looking to letting them fly around your house, you don't have any dogs or cats.  They make tasty treats for them.  Also, make sure your windows and doors are closed so they don't escape.  There are only a few warm states where they might be able to survive without humans.  One more thing, make sure your ceiling fans are turned off.  You don't want them to get their heads cut off.

Lastly, to make a parakeet tame, you must continue working with them.  Handle them all the time, feed them out of your hand and next time, only get one.  I had a male parakeet (they're the only ones that talk), who could say, I love you, come and see me, what'cha doin', I'm a pretty boy and he would also wolf whistle.  I left his cage door open all the time and he came and went as he pleased.  He was awesome.

Oh, make sure your houseplants are budgie safe.  They will land on them and eat them if you don't supervise them all the time.

  2. let them out and fly around for a while and sit next to them if that doesnt work then sit in another room and let them calm down. Cut their wings but  make sure you dont bring them outside or theyll fly away. they still know how to fly but they act to not to fly in the house. When they bite you let them bite you dont react to them when their bites are painful. Spend a lot of time with them. Touch them every day when you have time. Have people coming to your house and bring your parakeets out of the cage so they will get use to people.

  3. First of all, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT HURT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WILL CAUSE YOUR BIRD TO NOT TRUST YOU AND IT WILL GET WORSE!!!!!!!!! go to www.birdtricks.com to get help with training your birds! Chet Womack explains it. I have problems with my family's two Cockatiels, Brady and Moss with biting, so I went there and he emailed me videos about how to stop this behavior by giving a bird personal space and using a training thing called a Clicker. He gives advise and videos on how to train your birds by email.

IT WILL TAKE LOTS OF TIME AND PATIENCE!!! But it's all worth it in the end. And parakeets can be very nice and fun to play with and build a strong bond with once they are trained! Trust me, we own 6 of them and they are so fun to bring out of the cage!

Oh, and maybe you should consider clipping their wings? It doesn't hurt them. If you don't know how, have an avian vet to it.

    Good luck!

  4. Never use an open hand!! One finger works great. If you let the Parakeet nibble at you finger you gain there trust. Work with them every day! Within time they'll love you and they'll be well trained birds. (When your holding them make sure to talk to them to let them know everything is okay!)
