My parakeets are eating their p**p??why??

Question

Ok.. they eat drink, and p**p regularly, but at times they go to the bottom of the cage and eat their own sh**.. I dont know why..

I mean everything else is just regular, but why? I provide them toys, food, water, and everything for a healty environment, so why would they eat their own p**p/f***s/sh**??

Well the drinking water should have no p**p in is. Maybe you are not keeping the cage clean. The paper or what ever you have on the bottom should be cleaned regularly.  Try to make their p**p unavailable to them.

They are trying to retain nutrients.. they may be missing nutrients?? Do they get enough calcium, vit D?? Do they get some sunshine??

This is a very bad but common habit.They don`t need to eat that. Try to think in some way to avoid the could reach the bottom of the cage (put the bottom lower if it`s possible). They are not as the rodents that do that naturally to recover some nutrients.
