I am from Taiwan. my family sent the backage to me in Darwin ,my parcel stops in custom brcause the cigarettes over 250,i want to know !!!!! if i pay the tax how can i get my package. by the way my package not just includes cigarettes. i got the other stuffs important to me like international license...etc ps i stay in Darwin but my package stop in sydney gateway facility... urgent HELP!!!!!!!!

  1. The legal limit for each traveller coming into Australia is 250 gr or 250 cigarettes. But as it is coming from a know drug importation route ( Asia) I would suspect that customs is having a closer inspection of ANY unaccompanied parcel from these know areas.

  2. Ring Customs in Sydney and you'll be able to pay the tax owing on the smokes and anything else and then if there is no other problem they will want you to pay to have it sent to Darwin

  3. It's no good asking us contact Australian customs and ask them. They are usually very good to deal with.

    It's not just the tax either tobacco is a plant material and is subject to quarantine

  4. um, i don't understand exactly what you are asking here. But let me take a jab at it. You would be better off calling customs for your area, no one on here is likely to be a customs agent looking to solve issues like that.
