Question:

My parents are dragging my brother on yet another vacation...

Its hiking this time. He hates hiking. If he were to stay home he'd be alone for around a week. Its not even a family vacation, I won't be there.

He's 16, very responsible. No partying, no drugs, no bad behavior whatsoever. The last irresponsible thing he did was a prank phone call five years ago. He basically makes me look horrible.

Additionally, he has soccer practice the day after the vacation. If he can't make the timed mile because his training is messed up, he won't make the team.

Any advice on how I can help him convince my parents to let him stay home? He's already written them a very reasonable, well thought out letter, that really impressed me. They thought it was funny.
